The Mildred Valve helps to create a simpler installation to other methods by combining the protection of a safe tray with a device that stops all water flow into the hot water system when a leak is detected. The Mildred Valve provides a great alternative to a safe waste when there has been no provision made or when there is simply no cost effective way to include one. The Mildred Valve is also a great option for holiday and rental properties by providing peace of mind in the event of a system failure whilst the premise is unoccupied.

The Mildred Valve offers a greater level of protection then the absence of such a device. However damage may still occur dependant on the type of leak or failure suffered by the hot water unit (spraying water from unit, tray unable to hold contents of water unit, failure to test unit prior to installation, incorrectly installed, etc.). Please ensure all testing and maintenance (including battery replacement) is carried out as specified by the manufacturer, and please choose the most appropriate product for your specific installation.

Available now at your local branch the Plumbspec Mildred Valve® is the latest in the new range of Evolve's Plumbspec plumbing product series.

Plumbspec Mildred Valve® is yet another innovative product solution by the Evolve Group.

Troubleshooting

The Red “TRIP” L.E.D. will flash and an alarm will sound repeatedly when the valve has been tripped (Activated by water contacting the brass pins on the puck sensor). This will set the valve to a closed position cutting supply to the hot water unit. If this occurs contact your licensed plumbing professional immediately. Once the failure has been rectified, the plumber can reset the valve by ensuring no water is in contact with the sensor and then pressing the reset button until an audible alarm is heard. Ensure to check the hot water supply to ensure that water has resumed flowing to your service.

It is stated that batteries should be changed annually to ensure continuous operation of the unit (under normal conditions). If the batteries run low within this period then the Amber “BATTERY” L.E.D. will flash and an alarm will sound repeatedly advising you that the batteries are low and need to be replaced immediately. When this alarm sounds, the valve will trip cutting water to your service allowing you time to replace the batteries. This alarm can be overridden by holding the reset button (circular green button) on the unit until an audible alarm is heard. This will return water supply to your hot water unit. Check the hot water supply to ensure that water has resumed flowing to your service.

As always please read the installation instructions carefully prior to installation.
